The Platform Café is a welcoming community cafe for families to enjoy coffee and cake or a nutritious meal. It’s fully accessible and located right next to Wyck Gardens playground, just a short walk across the park from Ebony Horse Club and Wyck Forest Garden. During the summer and autumn months, little ones can explore the fruit trees and bug hotel, forage for fruit, or enjoy a picnic in a shady spot.
We’ve also run Seedlings sessions, bringing parents and children together to learn more about growing, sustainable living, and healthy eating. These sessions take us across the road to our sister project, Loughborough Farm, where families get involved with planting, harvesting, and arts and crafts such as nature weaving, making flower posies, and hapa zome flower printing. Healthy snacks from the café are provided, and children can help prepare them – like picking salad leaves and making dressing.
