Whippersnappers Launches SEND Handbook for Parents

Download the SEND Handbook

Whippersnappers have created a very detailed SEND tool kit for parents to access online. Heidi Ahlborn, one of our family support workers has used her own lived experience, as a parent of a child with SEND, to put together this amazing resource which has been illustrated by Nora Payne who previously worked on our “Say it as it is” Film and research project.

The need for the SEND handbook was identified through our parent led research project “Say it as it is”. Parents reported how difficult it was to find information on the internet and wanted to be able to find all the information in one place.

“Say it as it is” Film and Research Project

In 2022 Whippersnappers ran a parent led research project exploring how participating in the creative arts can improve the mental health and wellbeing of SEND children and their families.

This research was documented as a film entitled “Say it as it is” and accompanied by a written report.
